Who We Are

Within a diverse denomination that is known as the Presbyterian Church (USA), our church describes itself as theologically conservative and broadly evangelical, clinging to the essential doctrines of the Christian faith, and positioning itself to be actively involved in our community. Our church works to have a balance between worship and service, between the nurture of our members and the reaching out to those who do not know Jesus Christ.

With that in mind, we currently have a vision statement which seeks to describe some of our distinctive vision for life and ministry. It reads:

The purpose of Centerville Presbyterian Church is to minister the Word of God in love and action so that people will commit their lives to Jesus Christ and, growing in discipleship, will use their gifts and talents in service to the church and the world.

  Worship  - To celebrate the glory of God, corporately and individually.
  Nurture  - To grow in the knowledge of and obedience to the Word of God.
   Care       - To love one another as Christ loves us.
  Growth    - To love people and lead them into a personal relationship with

                     Jesus Christ.
