A Bay Area native, Darryl Guzman has been leading worship, directing choirs and choral festivals and staging and directing drama productions since 1979. Darryl served at CPC from 1984 to 1994 and returned as Director of Worship in 2002. Choirs under his direction have performed throughout Fremont and Newark, in San Jose at the Basilica of St. Joseph, the Crystal Cathedral in southern California and most recently, Carnegie Hall in New York City. Darryl’s BA is in vocal music performance from Cal State Hayward. His graduate degree is from Grace Theological Seminary in Indiana and he is ordained through the United Evangelical Churches. He and his wife Susan have been married for 28 years and they have three grown children: Ben, Rachel and Zach.

Darryl thoroughly enjoys overseeing all worship department ministries, planning worship services and takes particular delight in conducting the 50- member Centerian Sanctuary Choir, the Vocal Ensemble (a smaller group from within the choir) and CenterPeace Worship Band. He also enjoys working with teenagers and directs three vocal performing groups and drama productions at Fremont Christian High School.
