About Us

CCP is a non-profit, Christ-centered, weekday enrichment program whose emphasis is on social development. Our purpose is to provide an atmosphere of warmth and acceptance where every child can grow and develop as an individual as well as a member of  a group.  We are honored to partner with parents in developing competent healthy children: physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

We believe:

Trust is developed through relationships.

Acceptance grows from unconditional love from Parents & Teachers.

Each child is worthy of acceptance & respect from the adults around them.

Independence is developed by giving a child age-appropriate choices.

Freedom is learning to make appropriate choices.

Guidance is direction given to help a child make choices.

Our program includes indoor  & outdoor activities, imaginative play, creative activities, singing, stories, community exploration, and encouragement of creative thinking. Age-appropriate Biblical themes & virtues are presented in a variety of ways.  We have special daily arts and crafts — balloon painting, scraper art, collages, seed planting, and seasonal projects. Participation is strongly encouraged, but not required.  Each day includes free play, prayer & snack, rhythms or songs, and book-reading or storytelling. This is a flexible schedule and is adjusted to include enriching experiences such as a monthly Chapel Time, scheduled field trips, and special visitors from the community.

Provide a nurturing environment filled with warmth, love, consistency, caring, and respect.

Develop a child’s positive self-image that values God-given uniqueness and creativity, strengthens

language, builds social skills, increase fine motor skills, and enhance physical coordination.

Encourage happy, confident children fully prepared to enter Kindergarten.

Be a supportive resource for parents, and welcome them to participate in our church.

Extended Care Program

The Centerville Church Preschool Extended Care Program is an optional four and one-half hour after school program designed to provide the highest quality care for your child.  Children will be cared for by the same highly educated and certified teachers that instruct the children during school hours.

Children will experience a fun, closely supervised afternoon, with a scheduled lunch time and nap time.  Important note:  Lunch must be brought by the family, no lunch will be provided by the school.

Those families utilizing the program on a regular basis must provide a schedule to the school at least one week prior to the start of each month.  These families will receive priority placement in the extended care program.  Families needing “drop-in” hours must receive prior approval from school staff and it will be on a first come first served basis.

kHours:  11:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  No extended care will be provided on

   school holidays

kFees:  There are three (3) payment options:

1) PREPAID SCHEDULED CARE: receives priority consideration. Payment is due at the start of the month, and the hours are not transferable due to absence-however, this is the most affordable option for those who use Extended Care often.

Scheduled Extended Care Fee Schedule

Hours per month

Fee

0-30 hrs/month

$5/hr

31-50 hrs/month

$150.00

51-70 hrs/month

$180.00

71-98 (max) hrs/month

$225.00

(Multiple Child Discounts: Each month, 10% will be discounted off the lowest rate of scheduled extended care for each additional child.  No discounts will be given for “Block” or unscheduled “Drop-In” hours.)

      2) BLOCK HOURS: Blocks of hours can be purchased at the drop-in rate of $5/hr., to be used at the

parent’s discretion. This offers the greatest flexibility for those who use the program often, but don’t want

to commit to a non-refundable schedule.

     3) DAILY DROP-IN: Daily drop-in fees of $5/hr. are the most flexible, providing there is space available.

History

Centerville Church Preschool (originally named Centerville Presbyterian Church Nursery School) was incorporated as a nonprofit institution on October 6, 1955. The program was conceived by the late Ruth Fuhr whose husband, Tom, was pastor of the church at that time. Mrs. Fuhr served as the director of the school during her husband’s ministry at Centerville.

The congregation and Session of the church have been faithful over the years in keeping to the original intention — a nonprofit, community service, the first of its kind here in Fremont.

Centerville Church Preschool is a church-sponsored, nondenominational program that welcomes all children (within our age requirement) of the community without regard to race, color, religion or national origin.
